Lake Eyre only fills every 100 years and is famous for being the saltiest lake in the world! It lies in the heart of Australia , near the top of the South Australian border 15 metres below sea level. Edward John Eyre found the lake in 1839 when exploring the desert, hence named Lake Eyre . It is a giant basin where the great inland rivers of the outback converge. Most of the time it is covered by a dry salt crust.

When the inland rivers flood, the lake transforms into an enormous wetland system , buzzing with new aquatic life that brings the water birds from all over the country, replenishing the desert.

This just has to be the best way to see the diversity of the Australian Outback, from a birds eye view of course. So why not come with us and fly the Outback over 3 days and 2 nights.

Experience the splendour of Lake Eyre from above and stay the night in the historic town of William Creek . Next day finds us winding along the Cooper Creek to Birdsville where we again spend the night in an equally historic place, (because of its pub!) Final day we track back to Sunshine Coast after a break at Charleville midway.

Next flight leaves 20 th August and returns 22 nd August. Don't forget we can alter these itineraries to suit your requirements. BOOK NOW!
